Matt Brown started The Tyre Soldier in Dundee after five years in the British Army. Keri Peters joined as co-director, bringing operations, customer-care and scaling experience from years of hands-on project management.
After proudly serving in the British Army, Matt returned to his hometown of Dundee with a strong work ethic, discipline, and a desire to build a new career. He began as a trainee commercial tyre fitter, where he quickly developed a genuine passion for the trade, gaining experience with several respected tyre companies across the region in all weather conditions.
Together, they built The Tyre Soldier as a more responsive, mobile, customer-focused tyre fitting service. Matt is on the tools and at the wheel of the van. Keri runs operations, scheduling and customer care. The goal is simple: keep drivers moving safely, anytime, anywhere.

How long does it take to change a tyre?
Once the van is with you, a single tyre takes about 20 to 30 minutes and a full set of four is usually 45 to 60 minutes. That covers jacking the car, stripping the old tyre off the rim, mounting and balancing the new one, torquing the wheel properly and setting the pressures.
How much does mobile tyre fitting cost in Dundee?

Is mobile tyre fitting more expensive than a garage?
Usually not. The tyre itself is the biggest part of any tyre bill and it comes from the same trade suppliers at the same price whoever fits it. A mobile fitter carries no showroom, forecourt or waiting room, which offsets the cost of coming to you, and you also save the fuel, the time off work and the second trip to collect the car.
Can you repair a puncture, or will I need a new tyre?
We assess the tyre at the vehicle and repair it on the spot when the damage is safely repairable, which means minor damage in the central tread area of a tyre that has not been driven on while flat. Sidewall damage, run-flats that have been driven deflated and tyres driven home on a flat cannot legally be repaired, and in those cases we source and fit the replacement on the same visit.
Are mobile tyre fitters any good?
A mobile fitter uses the same trade suppliers, the same fitting equipment and the same wheel balancer as a garage, so the work is identical; only the location changes. Our van carries professional balancing equipment, wheel nuts are torqued to the manufacturer figure rather than rattled up with a gun, and The Tyre Soldier Ltd carries Public and Products Liability insurance.
Are you really available 24/7?
Yes. Not a call centre that patches you through to someone three counties away. It's Matt's phone. He answers it at 2am on a Wednesday and at 7am on a Sunday.
